Planning skin care before your wedding

If you would like to discuss skin care before your wedding, allow time for an individual consultation and a considered decision. There is no treatment timetable that suits everyone, and a wedding does not make a cosmetic procedure necessary.

Start with your current routine

Discuss your skin concerns, products you already use, sensitivities, relevant health history and the date of your event. A simple routine that your skin tolerates may be more appropriate than introducing several new products or procedures.

Allow for uncertainty

Procedures such as microneedling and chemical peels can cause redness, irritation, sensitivity and other adverse effects. Recovery and outcomes vary. No interval before an event can guarantee that a reaction will have settled, and results cannot be guaranteed.

If a procedure is suitable, your practitioner can explain its risks, aftercare and likely recovery range so you can consider whether it fits your plans. You can also choose to defer treatment or have no treatment.

Close to the day

Avoid experimenting with unfamiliar products or procedures close to an important event. Follow the directions for products you already tolerate and seek advice if your skin becomes irritated.

Skin consultations at Skin Tide Torquay are $50, redeemable against any treatment. Suitability is assessed individually and no treatment is required.
